Diagnosis:20 yo man who lives in Atlantic City, NJ with his grandmother. He was recently diagnosed with synovial sarcoma and had surgical resection. He is in the process of starting chemotherapy. He has family members help him with rides to and from Jefferson for his appointments, but the cost of gas and tolls has been burdensome.

Grant:The Paige Tibbetts fund helped to offset the cost of his transportation.

Diagnosis:A 35 year old woman. She had to have all of her teeth pulled prior to her treatment for a neuroendocrine tumor because the treatment can cause osteonecrosis of the jaw. She didn’t have dental coverage and couldn’t afford dentures, so she has not had teeth for the last year.

Grant:We were able to use The Paige Fund to pay for her full set of dentures. The social worker said when the patient was in the office last week she was wearing them and everyone saw her smile for the first time, her smile lit up the whole room.

Diagnosis:A 35 year old single woman with recurrent, metastatic ovarian cancer. She wanted to pursue fertility preservation prior to treatment.

Grant:The Paige Fund paid this cost that she wouldn’t be able to afford on her own.

Diagnosis:A 35 year old single mother who is receiving chemotherapy for breast cancer. She doesn’t have a prescription plan.

Grant:The Paige Fund provided her with the money to help pay for medications that she needed for treatment.

Diagnosis:A 29 year old single mother with two young children is receiving treatment for ovarian cancer. She used up all her sick leave and vacation time and was missing work due to chemotherapy treatments.

Grant:The Paige Fund helped pay household bills and rent that she wouldn’t otherwise be able to pay.

Diagnosis:A 30 year old woman diagnosed with cancer of the lacrimal gland that is now metastatic to the bones. She was living in Reading PA, but receiving treatment at Jefferson.

Grant:The Paige Fund paid for her temporary lodging with a host family during her treatment.
